Promise & Law
Over 100 years ago Robert Baden-Powell founded Scouting as a values-based Movement. Although times have changed, these values are still important to us and you can read more about how we've grown to the organisation we are today based on these values on the UK Scout website.
The Promise that all new Explorers are required to make when they join embodies the values of our Movement:
Explorer Scout Promise
On my honour, I promise that I will do my best
To do my duty to God and to the King
To help other people
And to keep the Scout Law
Explorer Scout Law
A Scout is to be trusted.
A Scout is loyal.
A Scout is friendly and considerate.
A Scout belongs to the worldwide family of Scouts.
A Scout has courage in all difficulties.
A Scout makes good use of time and is careful of possessions and property.
A Scout has self-respect and respect for others.
